The first Foam Castles show at Geno's in May 2010 | photo by Bryan Bruchman
…the release of Molly’s Jungle has been pushed back to July 2010! That’s this month…stay tuned for updates on that. There are still plenty of songs from the album floating around this website, and also the new Foam Castles Peapod page.
Some things about F.C. gathered from the internet these past few months…
Bryan Bruchman posted a profile on his HillyTown blog, which includes photos of the project’s first-ever show at Geno’s on May 13, 2010. The Portland Press Herald also ran brief interview a while back. Portland photographer Jon Donnell took some pictures at a few recent Foam Castles shows — the Honey Clouds record release and the Planets Around the Sun Summer Solstice Boat Party (which featured most of Honey Clouds in the band with Tyler Quist, rather than Brenda and Jay Lobley). The boat party was documented by Bryan Bruchman for Impose Magazine.
Chris Busby reviewed Molly’s Jungle in the May issue of the Bollard. Pick one up around Southern Maine or read it online here: http://www.thebollard.com/bollard/?p=7450
Dylan Martin wrote a little Foam Castles feature in the USM Free Press, too, which can be read here.
Reminder that the record will be coming out on Peapod Recordings on June 1, 2010. They should also available at the May 28 SPACE show with Honey Clouds and Tan Vampires.
New album cover art by our good friend & gifted artist Dulce Shultz (who also made the art for our album Why We Walk). Molly’s Jungle will be released this spring on Portland, Maine’s Peapod Recordings. Be sure to check out the CD for the rest of the art!
Today from 3PM-5PM Eastern, David Pence will be playing tracks from Molly’s Jungle along with the Bee Gees and the Vines on Radio Junk Drawer. Tune into 90.9 and 104.1 FM in the Portland, ME area and http://wmpg.org/include/listenlive.htm everywhere else.
A year or so ago, Jake Turcotte, Ritu Moondra and I spent a weekend in Boston making some music for Ritu’s thesis film called Headlights. This is a mixed sequence of the music we made for it. I’m not sure that all of it was actually in the movie. The more song-like pieces are either reworked, early or unused versions of Harriers songs (I think).
CD-Rs of Why We Walk and Night Crawling with ink jet artwork and spray-designed discs! Get one free (in person, while they last) with the purchase of our new album, Molly’s Jungle, this spring. Both albums can still be downloaded with artwork from this website.
